Picture=1000 words

If a picture is worth 1000 words, how many is a video worth? (HT: Jason Blair @ BHT)

I’ve taken some time to seriously think about this video.

It truly saddens me to think that certain portions of this video reflect a visitor’s experience in some of our churches. At least one scene I found quite offensive. Even assuming some of it is hyperbole, I doubt the author pulled his ideas out of “thin air.”

Do non Christians see the Church (us) as some of these vignettes portray? More importantly, how does an all-holy, all-powerful, and all-knowing God see us?

This past Sunday, my pastor was teaching about how the Church is God’s chosen instrument for reaching the world. After Jesus’ ascension, the job of reaching the world for Christ was entrusted to the men and women of the Church. And there isn't a “backup” plan. This is it.

As we’re discussing this, men and women, and boys and girls within our sphere of influence are dying a slow, horrible, and eternal spiritual death.

So, what are we going to do, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to honor God, love our neighbors, and be an attractive part of the family of our Lord and Savior?
